listen....good surprises, the unforgetable ones, only happen when you know the person.... not just that he likes the color blue or what his favorite band is....you need to know what his dreams/goals are. men always fantasize about being the best at something. it could be his job, or a sport he used to play, and opportunity missed. you have to get under all the upfront layers to get a good surprise. it you are really close to him, then you should know stuff his parents don't know, his friends don't know, his brothers or sisters don't know. if you aren't that close then you can always mildly surprise with something you already knows he likes, but rarely indulges in.

i think it would be cool if you got some tickets to his favorite sports team and called him at work or whatever and told him early not to make any plans that night and not tell him what your doing just that he will like it and take him.maybe on the way you could have a jersey wrapped up and put the tickets in with it and give it to him. i like sports a lot though, so thats me

I surprise my husband once in a while by stopping by his work unannounced, making him a special dinner, a special gift like a rose or something sent to his work...be romantic and spontaneous..
