God has given us a wonderful gift, that of free will. If you give your life to him and allow him to guide you in everything you do, then he will make sure that the man you marry is the man for you. If you don't trust your life to him, he lets you go out and get caught up in the whole dating-loving-dumping-heartbreak-till-the-next-one-comes-along circle. Even when God leads you to the right guy/girl, it doesn't mean that he is perfect. Nobody is. Some people get along fabulously, but no relationships are without occasional tears and trials. It's part of life and it makes you stronger. The person you end up with should become your soulmate when you marry them, which means even though you have the occasional fights and falling-outs, you will stick by eachother for life. The term is sometimes mistaken to mean "perfect man/woman." All it means is that you know that this person is the one you will spend the rest of you life with, for better or for worse.

Absolutely, God creates the soulmate for us. However, we are the once who make actions. God only provides us clues. If we let him/her slip, it is because of us. The sad thing is, some people wrongly identify their soulmates, taking for granted their true soulmates. The result therfore is a mismatch and an unhappy love story ending.

I hate the word "soulmate"... what a stupid detail someone made up 10 or 20 years ago.

People do well with a certain "type" of person... nothing more, nothing less! There are a few hundred to a few thousand out there for each of us... go find one and be happy!

God has nothing to do with it... that's like saying kids kill kids because God wants them to and that there's a hidden meaning behind it. What a load of crap... that's saying we have NO choices in life... that God already has our life planned for us. ALL must take the responsibility for their own choices and not blame others or God or the devil for the mistakes they make.

We are here to run our own race and be judged in the end by the choices we make... we ARE defined by our choices... choose wisely!

Anybody can be a soulmate. Gods have nothing to do with it. Any two people are more alike than different. Any two can fall in love and have a relationship given the right setting and motivation. Bonds form regardless as people get to know each other more. That's why arranged marriages work as well as they do.

This word soulmate is man made - since there is no marriage in heaven (per Jesus in the Gospels) there is no reason to think there are soulmates. Some folks just click better than others. Good question - God bless you. ~Nisa

From what I understand, a "soulmate" is someone you knew in a past life. Therefore, one can have many soulmates.

I think that God has a plan for all of us, and God has handpicked a soulmate for each of us, although, not necessarily in the form of a girl friend, or wife.

I think that soulmates are created.

We choose our own soulmates about the same as we choose our own gender.
