That means that the palin bagels were made with the same equipment that was used to make sesame bagels. That is the manufacturers way of alerting the consumer that sesame seeds may have been left over from the previous process and one or two have found their way into a plain bagel.
So, if you're a little allergic to sesame seeds, you might want to take that chance. But if you are highly allegic to sesame seeds, it's not worth the risk.

The plain bagels are made in a place where other bagels are made so the company puts this notice on to protect themselves.
Although they do not have sesame seeds listed as one of the ingredients on the label, sesame seeds MAY be present from the previous batch of bagles.

It's a warning to those who are allergic that the bagel could either contain sesame seeds, or have been produced on a line at the bakery that has sesame seed products on it too, thereby exposing the bagel to sesame seeds. The seeds may not be visible, but the bagel may have sesame residue.

The plain bagels are probably made on the same line as the sesame seed ones and some remnants might still be present

It means that the food is processed in a place where sesame seeds are used. This warning is there for things like nuts also because some people are allergic to as little as a few parts per million. There is no way for the manufacturer to know if such small amounts exist in a non sesame product if the plant uses them in something else. And they can get away with this because the FDA allows no more than 6% non food products to just fall into the mix. It's simply there as a warning to people with allergies.

It's put on the labels just in case someone is allergic to them, that way people know that it is a possibility that they may have got into the dough. It's for the same reason that some labels say"may contain peanuts", because people are allergic to them.

They do put poppy seed on begals. They are those tiny little black seeds and those will test positive on a drug screen. Is it that sesame seeds are poppy seeds. I always thought they were different. Those are little white seeds.
