No, it is a visible sign of faith and celebration. Faith can bring joy not just solemnity.
Idol worship would be thinking that the statue itself is a diety.

I do not agree with this practice. Then, I am not a Christian, so do not agree with any Christian practice. However, they have a right to worship as they see fit. You have no right to judge them ------as long as they are not infringing on your right and beliefs.
