Genesis. It is totally preposterous. No god would have to rest on the 7th day. What kind of god is that?

OK, here's the deal. Delete or modify those parts which are not consistent with spiritual truth. Spiritual truth and the nature of God's creation is not subject to opinion. You don't know what spiritual truth is ? Then educate yourself.

For example in the NT some goofball misinterpreted Jesus saying - no one shall enter the kingdom of Heaven except through me - to mean that one must accept Jesus and their Lord and Saviour in order to go to Heaven. No, no! Then what did he mean?

Do you remember Shakespeare saying - there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy - he was referring to the multiple dimensions(layers, levels) of existence. In order to for a soul to progress, one must pass by each level's "gatekeeper" (this is where the St. Peter nonsense comes from). Jesus the Master is one such gatekeeper. There are others. You must evolve spiritually to qualify to pass to a higher level.

Jesus also said - greater than this shall ye do. Have I not told you ye are gods? -. What's this all about? We were all created in the same instant of the same "stuff". The very fact that Jesus is a Master means that we can all be Masters.

IIn general, the Bible has been so badly edited already that much of it is confusing and subject to misinterpretation. One thing clearly jumps of the pages of the OT. The God referred to in Genesis who laid down the Ten Commandments and caused the Flood was not God. How do we know this? First, God does not talk to Himself. Second, God does not have human emotions. So who was it? Obviously superior beings from off the planet. Open your eyes, the clues are there. - There were giants on the earth in those days -. Pillars of fire, parting of waters, instant plagues, loudspeakers, burning bushes(laser lights), wheels within wheels, 'stars' that follow movement on the ground, 'angel' visitations', etc.

In the future, the Bible will be looked at as a book of wisdom, history, allegorical descriptions of real events(i.e. creation), and a source of chaos and misunderstanding for generations.

Somewhere in the New Testament it states that if everything Jesus said were written down there would not be enough books on earth to contain it. I think if I could edit the Bible...I would add more of what Jesus had to say. I would have liked to know more about his childhood and maybe more about his family life.

I think the Bible can be rewritten as a pamphlet,2 to 3 pages, maximum.

Personally, I would leave out all the god stuff, because it just upsets and confuses people. There is some wisdom in the Bible, but it is interlaced with superstitious nonsense. You can reduce most of the wisdom found in the Bible to the "Golden Rule", i.e. do unto others as you would have them do unto you. However, I would edit it. There are many things I would like done to me that I'm sure others would not like me to do to them.

Perhaps after getting rid of the bad parts of the Bible and reducing down the wisdom to be less repetitive, we can just edit the Bible to be the motto, "Live and let live". Currently, with it buried in all the other religious nonsense, that doesn't come through in most Christians today.

well there is a verse in the bible that says not to add to or take away from God's word. So i think that answers the question. we shouldn't edit or delete any of it.

Deuteronomy 5:32 Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.

Proverbs 30:6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Revelation 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

No man has 'edited or deleted' anything from the Bible, and nobody has (or ever will have) the right to do so.

I'd like to see it as it was..
before the men in power did away with certain passages..
and before a group of men decided certain books weren't what they wanted the people to see..
what doesn't suit them and their needs, do away with.
Ever wonder what exactly the dead sea scrolls said.. I heard men in power, who had the money to have these translated, didn't care for what was said, so we the people, aren't make aware of the truth..
Don't you just love man-kind.. especially those with the money that could be helping others.. yet don't.
