20x, but quality is still the same, unlike what the first guy said. but if youre zooming, youll only be able to go from 10x to 20x with the lens on. so you wont be able to do a long zoom from 1x all the way to 20x, unless you stop and screw on the lens in between.

if you use it when you are zoomed in you will in effect have 12x but if you zoom out you will then have a smaller area showing up, so really you are just cropping the size of your image
hi they are wrong i am a videographer and use them all the time, it equals 12x

eg 50mm with x2 converter becomes 100mm or put another way f2 with x2 = 100mm f4. 200mm f4 becomes 400mm f8
