Here are some sure bets:
1. most people will say He never said anything wrong/retarded
2. I can't answer this coz I don't spend my life quoting Him, but I'm sure at some point He said something dumb........ He did still eat, sleep, and 'evacuate' like the rest of us, didn't He? In 30 years he never said something stupid?
3. The Council of Nicea (323 AD) decided which Gospels got in to the final draft of the Bible, and which didn't. Since that time, many sects have also ommitted or retranslated the texts. Then you have the 'rediscovery' of the Gospel of Judas.......... I'm sure something got lost on the way.
4. Years of Jesus' life are missing from the Bible. So no one knows all that happened.
5. The Gospels were written from word of mouth stories told years after Jesus' death. People would tend to leave out the retarded stuff to make Jesus look better.

Jesus was here as a representative of the Lord. The Lord spoke through Him. Nothing He said was "retarded". He was a role model of appropriate behavior. His words and actions showed us the way.
