Not in my book and I do it at least three times a day (more during the holidays)
i did it once with a six year old girl.
And then I tried to get her interested in philately, but it was OK, as her mother was a thespian

I masticate three times a day, often with people I work with at lunchtime. We all get together in a big room and watch each other masticate. Sometimes we even talk while we're masticating, which is really rude.

To masticate means "to chew food." So the answer would have to be "no." Chewing food is a normal human action, and therefore not a sin.
