Unfortunately, this occured in 1996 in Alhambra. There is so much more, but I was told that the statue of limitations has expired. I don't believe that is right because murder cases can go on for years. The only difference between murder and attempted is with one they succeeded. That doesn't change the fact that there was intent to cause great bodily harm. Am I right?

You are missing a *huge* part of your question which leaves us with a question: What happened in Alhambra in 1996?

There is no statute of limitations for murder. There is a statute of limitations on attempted murder.

Please update your question.

Actually there are very few things that have unlimited amount of time to prosecute and one is murder, but there is a limit on attempted murder because there was no success in the attempt. While it would be nice to put on the list that don't have limits there are those who would fight and say that we cannot hold a person responsible for the rest of their lives.

What happened in Alabama? Obviously a murder...but cold cases can stay open forever can't they? I didn't think a murder can have a limitation. I'll ask that as a question....

There is no statute of limitations on murder, and probably not attempted murder either.

I agree with you but since death did not occur they are probably changing the charge to aggravated assault. You should go to your solicitors or district attorneys office and advised them of the problem.

I understand your philosophy...

However I submit... that death is a big difference.. If the person survives to live another day... that often time a better scenario.
