It's a term for an indigenous group of people found in Malaysia and the Philippines. The term comes from when Spaniards "discovered" them and means "little black" because they're short of stature....

According to wikipedia: The Negrito peoples have one of the purest genetic pools of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) among anyone in humankind so their mtDNA serves as a baseline in studying Genetic Drift.

Which is why Crown114 is mistaken because so called "modern" Filipinos trace their origins to Malay peoples. It's a completely different group.

The Negritos include the Ati, the Aeta and at least four other tribes of the Philippines, the Semang of the Malay peninsula, the Mani of Thailand and 12 Andamanese tribes of the Andaman Islands. The Malay term for them is orang asli, or original people. They are likely the indigenous people of south-east Asia, including New Guinea. Pygmy-sized, they are numerically and physically among the smallest as well as among the least-known of all living human races. The Negrito peoples have one of the purest genetic pools of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) among anyone in humankind so their mtDNA serves as a baseline in studying Genetic Drift.

The word "Negrito" is the Spanish diminutive of *****, i.e. "little Black", and was given by early European invades and explorers who thought that the Negritos were from Africa.

a negrito is a pastry made by the Bimbo company. It's like bread, coated with chocolate on top, and chocolate filling. It's addicting, just so you know. They sell them in Mexico, and some Mexican stores in the U.S. although now they call them "Bimboletes" because they thought it was too racist. In Mexico, it's not racist because there is no racism there, so they can say what they want. I didn't even know the meaning of racisim until I came to live here.

It is of Spanish origin. Negrito is the diminutive form of ***** which basically means the "black" with respect to the colors. Since, the noun "color" is masculine, the adjective is *****. For feminine nouns, the adjective is Negra or negrita. Interestingly, in Spanish speaking countries, the diminutive forms are very extensively used during informal conversations,in movies and songs etc.

little blacky, but its said in an endearing way, its not meant to be racist.

in spanish if you want to say someone is my little something you add -lito at the end of a word for boys, and -lita for girls.

so you would be smokingdoggilito, little guy
or smokingdoggilita if your a girl
