I don't think anyone likes going to funerals. You have to keep in mind that you are attending for the living. They need your support and help now. If you were in their position, you would want them there to comfort you. Think of it that way, you'll get through it.

Phobias are fears, and you are dreading going, but, did you forget the word "not" or do you really like going. I think you are normal either way. Funerals are depressing to some and to others that are a little, I think the work is morbid, it is a nice thing. My sister in law loves funerals. I think it is the gathering of people.

No, it is not strange to have a phobia of funerals. I think the phobia stems from you really not wanting to deal with what you are feeling inside. You need to block that out, I know easier said then done, and go to the funeral. Remember it is not for you it is for your cousin. Sit with your family or friends. Good luck.

No Thats normal You may have necrophobia or you may simply just feel bad about funerals. If they make you sick and give you night mares chances are you have necrophobia.
No one " likes" going to funerals. Mainy see it as a respect issue. proper ediquite is that you go to funerals of close family members But if you didn't show for your third cousins funeral it would be okay.

I'm sorry for your loss.
Most everyone dislikes a funeral; after all, it's a final memorial to someone who has passed away. That's pretty bleak.
Still, it's our obligation to go; we aren't there for the deceased, but for the survivors, who can use all the gestures of support and understanding they can get.
This is not a time to be thinking of yourself; as you get older, you'll discover that there are many things you will have to do that aren't fun for you, but that you must do.
This is the difference between being a child and being an adult.

I don't think you have a phobia. Funerals are so emotionally draining and sad that you not wanting to go makes perfect sense. You do need to pay respects to your family, and its okay to do that in your own way.

Hi,
I guess you could not accept the fact that your cousin has passed away. Therefore, you dread going to his/her funeral.
Remember that your cousin will always be in your memories.
Only time will heal the sorrow.
Take care.

that's just u're way of dealing with a totally devastating situation. as long as u don't start hyperventilating or getting panic attacks ,etc then that's a perfectly normal way of dealing. just be sure ur family knows how u feel so there'll be no hurt feelings in case u skip.
