I guess it would depend on which part of the world you are in. I think that each region has it's own distinct flavour that makes it beautiful. However, the overall quality that I admire most, is the ability to unite and help when tragedy strikes. I recall the tsunami that hit Thailand and Sri Lanka. Within a short period, world politics and other grievances took a back seat and everyone jumped in to help in whatever way they could. This great tragedy brought out something beautiful in humanity.

I think Bacchus has it right -- it's empathy. It makes a profound difference in every aspect of human existence. I doubt anyone else will come up with a better answer.

(BTW, my first guess was love, until I remembered that love is also the most destructive force on earth.)

Fear. Unless it turns into some psychological problem or a phobia, fear keeps things rational I think. I'm not going to run around naked because I'm afraid I'll get caught. I'm not going to jump off a cliff because I'm afraid I'll die.

Where would man be without fear? Would he have walked up to some wild creature, fearless, and gotten slaughtered for not taking this creature's power and strength into consideration? Would humans have even survived to this day if we did not take precautionary measures?

Joh 13:35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
