Does anyone here ever research their answers? Not one is correct!!!!

Each state has a statute of limitations on judgements, with differant times and rules. For example, here in Michigan they can enforce a judgement for 10 years. But if the creditor files to extend it, they can add another 10 years. So in effect, judgements can last indefinately.

Other states limit it to 3 extensions. Some have SOL's of 6 years. So you need to research this.

As long as the judgement is active, they can continue to collect from you. That means garnishments and liens. And it will include more interest and legal fees.

Now, the other responders are talking about the time a judgement can be reported on your credit report. That time is 7 years, beginning on the day the judgement was entered. NOT after the judgement was paid, or any other goofy answer these guys are saying.

Do your research you guys!

I think you have to wait a couple of years after the debt is paid off and then the CCJ comes off your credit history. You are still young so you won't be tied with it forever , don't worry too much it will come off.

I think it will take about 6 years for it to be removed form you credit file.

All you can do now is maintain paying of your other credit agreements and try not to get any other forms of credit, its highly unlikely that you will because of this CCJ.

Keep paying off your other bills, if you have any, as this will build up your credit rating by the time the 6 years has elapsed.

It's the government dude! It will never go away. Pay it so the rest of us don't have to absorb the cost of you being irresponsible. (If you've paid the debt it will go away in about 7 years.)
