There is a group called rational recovery. It is a non-spiritual based recovery group based on the principles of Rationale Emotive Behavior Therapy, as developed by Albert Ellis, PhD. I recommend you checking out "The Small Book" by Jack Trimpe, which is basically the manual for this organization.

You can also check with local hospitals, churches, and even libraries in your area to see if there are some support groups. If you do not wish to say alcohol specifically, also check out "dependency support groups", which cover everything from eating disorders, codependency, etc.

Unsure although i'd be interested in finding out, I dont like the 12 step programme they offer because i 'm not spiritual. Hope someone else comes up with an answer.
