Agnostic here, don't want to change anyones religion.

What are some of the life lessons you learned and where did you get them from? I learned a life lesson from one of my friends 360 blog, he grew up in a working class neighborhood and know lives around rich persons whose children dont have to stuggle, or feel accomplishment.

He also suggested Christianity would be better without the Old Testement, and while I agree Christians quoteing the Old Testement makes little sense it does have a point in their religion, and we can get life lessons from it, but that its not the only source of life lessons.

So what have you learned lately and where and how, so that we can learn from one another and go to those places to learn our life lessons for the day.

I learned that some people have zero logic....and learned it right here in Yahoo Answers.

"Atheists must believe in God, otherwise why would they say there isn't one?"

WTF?????

Before we do lessons you might note that Jesus said that what we call the Old Testament "speaks of Him." It would not make sense for Christians not to quote the Old Testament. Also up to 60 per cent of the New Testament is either a direct quote of the Old Testament or a paraphrase.

Also interested to note that rich kids are born without a sense of accomplishment and never have to struggle. Income wise I've been below working class a few times and from parents hardly at middle class (if there are such). I am not denying rich kids the silver spoon, but your lesson is socialist nonsense.

With a little hard work your kids, or at least your grand kids, could be rich, soft and senseless too.

Lesson from mom. Learned a long time ago but good everyday. It does apply to poor and rich.

"Remember. You never get anything in this world that somebody else hasn't paid for."

I think you have to learn by applying lessons to life. "Doing it." Or, walking the talk instead of just talking the talk.

My wife and I found a church and I became a Christian there. I started to believe and find hope, peace, etc… but we weren't encouraged to apply it. We left, and didn't go to another church for a few years. We didn't grow as people much in those years.

Then we discovered our current church which encourages doing what Jesus said. So we now volunteer and even plan service events of our own. As we volunteer and help people we learn the benefits of giving. Nothing feels more rewarding than helping those that need help. What better way could you possibly spend your time. And no one thanks you. No one even knows who helped most of the time. You do these things and your life explodes in blessings.

We have more friends now than ever. We aren't as bogged down with stress, worry, and boredom. We have a community of support. At the birth of our son, we had people from our church stick around the hospital longer than my own brothers would.

Regardless of what your faith is, if you can't live it -now-, what is the point? Are you really experiencing it? I challenge you all to live it. The little that you lose is more than made up with in what you gain.

I learn about myself when I mow the lawn. It sounds dumb, but it's actually a really good time to think. You're doing this activity that's not mind tasking, that should last about an hour (for me at least), it's a good time to think about things if you can drown out the noise of the motor.

With everything that goes on in our lives, it can be hard to actually stop and think about yourself. For some reason this particular time, I thought about art. I honestly don't know why, but it's what my brain wanted to think about. I thought about what kind of art I like ( I actually wrote about this experience in my Xanga blog), turns out I'm a big fan of Frank Lloyd Wright's houses, I just never really stopped to really look at them. I also like Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, there's a little joke Mike played that I never realized before.

Anyway I guess that my most recent life lesson, I have a whole bunch of self reflection pieces, but I'll spare you of all those.

I have learned, through reading the Old Testament, that all the prophecies spoken point to the coming of a deliverer, a messiah, the one called Emmanuel, the conqueror of nations. This is why the Old testament is relevant to Christian study. Because the coming of Christ, the Emmanuel, the prince of peace, is the fulfilment of those prophecies.

I have learned lately that I'm not done growing and changing; that perhaps what I thought was set in stone may not be. It is interesting how being around other good hearted and intelligent people makes one take a look at what they thought perhaps wouldn't change. Lately I've got that from the friends I've made.

the bible is very heavy on the metaphor and contains allot of cryptonic messages.. you cannot fully understand something with only part of the story..NT is only part of the story..The More you read the bible cover to cover the more unveiled it becomes..it was written this way because humans cannot handle the full truth all at once.. it would squash their tinsy brains
