Actually the precursor to Hindi - known as Indo-european, is a family of languages that includes Hindi, English, German, French, etc. So in a way "Indian" languages actually represent one of the top language families used today - the main one being Chinese.
But if you are specifically referring to any actual modern language used within the Indian Sub-Continent, the reason for none being "world-class" is that the West, during its empire days, spread its own languages, thus causing Sub-Continental languages to become redundant for purposes of international commerce and subsequently, for those of international culture as well.

Actually.. to tell u the truth.. there r a lot of anti-indian cult everywhere in the world coz' they r everywhere. Beside americans, indians rank the top in most hated race. Infact american aren't hated as much as the indian coz' only the arab world have the anti-american feeling. But sadly for indians it's everywhere even inside india so.. there is no doubt indian language will become world class..
another reason.. the country india already has an english sperm and so english is spoken by everyone.. from beggers to the ministers.

In her long history, India has never invaded and conquered other countries. As a result, Indian languages have mostly remained in India only. This is a plus point because the original essence of these languages has been retained and refrained from being distorted. Just think of the plight of English or Spanish-the way they are spoken outside England / Spain........It's just horrible !!

Because in general Hindi is not spoken outside India by any one as a second language. Africans speak French, South Americans speak Portuguese and Spanish, but only Indians speak Hindi,

Most of the non-hindi-speaking state people who speak Hindi often have problem with its grammer, especially 'Genders'. This is the common source of errors while speaking. 'Gadi' (Train) is considered as feminine whereas 'Ingine' (Engine) becomes masculine. It is very difficult for non-hindi region person to understand the whole gamot of grammer in Hindi. Coming to the toppers of IAS we should not expect too much from their language. It is their action which they take during their service which we should be more concerned.
