Best thing to do is follow your doctor's advice. My son has it, and I use preventive medicines to keep his under control. Pulmicort is a great prevenitve medicine -- ask your doctor. There are other medicines out there as well. I also give him Zyertec. His asthma is brought on most of the time by allergies. When he starts coughing or wheezing a bit I start his breathing treatments -- Albuertol. And that usually does the trick. But consult your doctor if you haven't already, he can help.

No, thankfully, but I raised a child with asthma. Her attacks were seasonal, so we dealt with them as they happened late winter and late fall. We spent many nights in the ER during October and February.
That was many (25) years ago. Now they have several good medications that treat asthma and prevent attacks. Talk with a doctor about prevention and treatment of your asthma.

Yes I do, I use an inhaler on a daily basis. atleast 3x a day. Because of my asthma, I have a cough that I deal with every single day, due to my bronicial tubes get clogged.

Yes, I was diagnosed when I was 16. It has changed my life because it is harder now to do athletic activities without getting short of breath. I use pulmicort inhaler everyday as a preventative. It helps a lot. I have to be careful when I go places where there is cigarette smoke, or people with a lot of perfume on.

its not easy, but life goes on.
And it also depends how bad you have it, I have had Asthma since i was 6 months old, and I am 28 years old now, and I am happily married and have a wonderful 2 year old son.
Never let anything stop you from having a fulfilled life, that's what I advise you.

Yes myself and my son have it. We don't stop from living normally and doing all that we did before. I have it worse so I use the advair diskus twice a day and if needed albuterol. My son only uses albuterol as needed. When it is extremely humid we have to stay inside in the air conditioning but other than that we do fine. You also need to talk with your doctor and do as he tells you to do.
