Is it not a bit stupid selling 72 of the most advanced war planses in existence to a country like saudi arabia. A bit like selling arms to saddam. How many years will it be before we have to blow the s hit out of them?

you are closeminded and, in my humble opinion an ignorant asshole. as a canadian living in saudi for the past seven years i take offense to that and am chagrined by the fact that the stereotype of the west is being propelled by the likes of you.

Their realyl are some crippling idiots here...Britain isnt selling them, BAE Systems is, a private corporation. Our government has no part in the deal.

Secondlt, the Eurofighter IS one of the mosr advanced in existance. However, Saudi Arabia has us in their pocket, by us meaning the UK and America. We wont fight them until the Saudis lose their bargining power in the stock markets

The last time I looked the Saudis were on our side and they buy all of their military kit from either British or American companies (not governments).

The deal is a good one for jobs and the economy, and if you stopped trading with a country just in case it became an enemy in 50 years time you would be in trouble.

As for selling arms to Sadaam, this one keeps coming up. Would anyone like to tell me exactly what British or American arms were used by Sadaams military.

They had Russian tanks and rifles, Chinese pistols, Russian planes and battlefield missiles, French apc's, Helicopters and anti aircraft radars, and Chinese anti ship missiles.....

There were a couple of Chieftan tanks that they nicked from Iran and Kuwait, but they were stolen not supplied.

We did sell him a job lot of second world war green army trousers, but they are hardly weapons of mass destruction!!

The Eurofighter isn't exactly the newest technology out there. It was first deployed in the mid-90's and can be matched by an F-15 or F-16, in the hands of a capapble pilot.

The American taxpayer paid for them.Did you not know that the Saudis are staunch US allies just like that guy in Iraq, Saddam. Oh right he changed his mind but the Saudis never will, right?

Their 72 eurofighters will be shoot down by a sqad of F-22 Raptor when time will come.

Don't worry...the most advanced fighter airplanes are still on OUR side.

I think the Raptor is the most advanced war plane in existence.

If you want to make money (and a lot of people do) you arm both sides and go into the scrap metal business.

It makes good business sense.... Sell them, blow then out of the sky and then sell them some more.
