One of the best way to do this is to have the student learn a passage by rote and repeat it to themselves at spare moments. It can be a poem or anything. This will give them the confidence to speak faster because they don't have to think about what they are saying and can concentrate on the pronunciation. Once they have done this a few times, you will find their general speech speeding up.

Jazz Chants by Carolyn Graham is a book that might help. These are poems/chants that students hear and repeat. They give the student a feeling for both the pronunciation and porosity of the language.

the only real way to learn something is to induce pain when not speaking properly, I suggest a yard stick with a pin on it. You can just poke the weak ones to make them sqeel & slap those real dumb thick headed one with the hole stick.

well i don't know if it works or not ......but speaking in front of the mirror is what my teacher used to advise us in school. there's no harm in trying!!
