To make it better, you sound like you're going through your depressing stage, almost EVERYONE goes through it, sometimes longer than others and at many different times, but it'll end and you'll feel great

You are probably going through a rough phase of your life. It is typical of a teenager to be "down" sometimes. Trust me it is only a brief phase and for that don't over react and pleazzze don't do anything stupid. I get angry when I see the tragic news in the papers that some “loser” kid committed suicide because of XYZ reason…
And then there are hormonal changes in your body that play a havoc with your mind. These changes are primarily the reason why you feel left out or your think that no one cares about you or do not enjoy your company. It is perfectly alright that you feel that way but with your intelligence (remember you are still the star pupil and the twinkle of your parents) you can overcome this hurdle.
What you need is a boost to your “low” self-esteem and you certainly have done the right thing asking a question at YAnswers. There are so many good people in this world who will encourage you but you must remember to love your family because they are the most important people in this world. Do not alienate from them. Best wishes and may god give you strength to come out of this hole and be happy again, this time forever!

Hi!
You´re the only one that are You. If that´s not enough it will be. If You´re not afraid to discover the dark. We can run from Ourselves or we can be Friends with Ourselves.
This is not a Cheer Up-Answer. "One day You will have an education, a job, a family and so on."
This Answer comes from my own experience. Once I was also 16 and wandered what´s the meaning with this life. Now I´m 50. When I´ve survived a car crash at the age of 23 this exaggerated me wanderings.
At the age of 27 a decided not to commit suicide but to meet the dark. I asked a psychiatrist now a professor to lock me in at a Mental Hospital because the anxiety was overwhelming.
That was the start of what I´m doing now. LillebrorSerDig.NU is my gift to You that are young today.

The reason you feel people probably dont like being around you is that you may be shining too much about everything right know cause its all got on top of you. Stop and smell the roses. Slow down and enjoy things for what they are. Surround yourself with positive people. You will know those that ae genuine and those that are full of it and fake. Enjoy what you have and what is given to you for nothing. If your feelings dont change within a week, go see a doctor. Just remember you are very special and important in this world

You've got so many years ahead of you. Life is full of ups and downs. Do you know that the more you sulk or get angry, you grow old faster. Try to think positive - if you used to be an A student, why can't you maintain this standard? Just think positive, be grateful that you're still more fortunate than others around you. With God's help, nothing is impossible.

I think the only way to cope with this would be making the best of what you got. Because you see I have the same problem and I am so miserable and I have asked people how I should handle this situation and none of them came to me with a satisfactory answer. The only answer I had to my problems was that I must make the very best of what I got and be thankful for it even if at this point not even becoming a hollywood star would make me any happier.

wow! that is a whole lot of sadness for a 16 yr old to deal with...just ride it out, it could be your hormone's playing tricks on you. We all go thru bad periods in our lives--just gotta get thru them...people who tell you they love you- do love you. I am sure they don't have to tell you this, they want to. Don't isolate yourself--even though it would be easier to do---get out and do something for someone else--like volunteer to feed babies born with withdrawal symptoms--or feed the elderly---just doing something for someone else, unselfishly will make you feel better and at the very least will take your mind off of your own sorrows for a little while. Or volunteer at your local animal shelter--dogs and cats will never judge you and they have nothing but love to give!

Oh sweetheart, your life is worth living. Go and see your doc and he may well put you on some tablets to make you see straight again. I have been where you are today and I have come out the other side, happily married with a gorgeous baby boy. It does get better with time and if people say they love you then please believe them.

Hang in there. There are some great books that my daughter enjoyed when she was close to your age; they really helped her. The author is "Cheri Huber". If you go to amazon.com, look up her name and you can review all of her books and what they can help you with. They are awesome, even for adults! Good Luck.

It sounds like you are suffering from depression. Especially during your teenage years, depression can be a biochemical reaction to hormonal changes. You should discuss your symptoms with your doctor.
Also, if you are otherwise healthy, exercise, especially outdoor activities are very effective in dealing with depression.
