The reason I posted this q is that I so sick and tired of people presuming that every priest are pedophiles or gay, they are not.
And pedophilia is just as common among married protestant preacher and other grown males for that reason.
I do think it's awful..and even more so if a priest does this.

What difference would it make? Either way the child would be devastated, because in all probability he/she has been raised by parents and society to believe that teachers are always respectable and upright, and priests are always moral and holy...either situation would completely destroy everything the kid had ever believed in. Unless, I think, if the child was actually a Christian or a Catholic, it would be worse to be molested by a priest - he might protest when a teacher molests him, but a priest? With all the conflicting thoughts and emotions, it's gonna be that much harder to know that what is happening is wrong.

Molestation by either the teacher or the priest is very bad. It might be worse; however, when done by a priest if the child develops an aversion to God or becomes an atheist as a result. May be some sociologist could do a study of children who have been molested by priests to see if it has affected their religious development in anyway - particularly later in life when they're no longer required to attend church by parents.

That's a sick question. Think back when you were a child, say, 5 or 6, would want to be molested by anyone at all? Just the thought of anyone molesting a child is so sick and perverse. As it is, there are so many children you hear about on the news that have been molested, it makes me want to cry and you asked a question like this?????????

What a sick thing to say! Any child who is molested by ANYONE has their life changed FOREVER!!!!! Many victims don't live to have a life. Child molesters are evil and should be hanged on the public square!

I think people like you are disgusting, for the mere fact that you have that Question in your mind it says you might want to do such a think but you're still making research, when you are a child it does not affect you, but when you're an adult then it all comes back, its very traumatic, I've dealt with many patients with the post rape trauma...

Absolutely not. It is the same thing: having a respected public figure mess with a child. Disgusting !! The harm that this can do can last for the rest of a child's life.

Molestation any where is ridiculous. It leaves a permanent scar in the minds of the molested. Molester thinks it is for kicks. Society needs to clean up such people.

No. You should try to protect your children by keeping them away from Priests and religion since nothing from that will benefit them in life. But they will need an education so sending them to school is worth the risk.
