I guess it depends on what kind of brownies you like - ones that are more cake-like, or ones that are more gooey. I prefer the latter, so (years ago) I sought out a recipe that included the least amount of flour possible without it actually being a flourless chocolate cake. This is what I found:
(I don't know how experienced a cook you are, so pardon me if it sounds like I'm talking down to you, but I want to be thorough!)
1/2 cup (= 1 stick) butter (I prefer unsalted), plus butter for pan
2 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup flour
1 cup chopped nuts (optional) - walnuts are the classic, but pecans are nice, too
Preheat oven to 325° F.
Butter an 8" square pan. I prefer to line it with wax paper or parchment to make removal easier, so I put a little butter in the bottom of the pan to hold the paper in place, and then butter on top of the paper.
Melt the 1/2 cup butter and chocolate together, in either a pan over low heat, a double boiler, or a glass bowl in a microwave at a low setting (my method - 45 seconds on 30% power; stir to melt the chocolate a little, and then microwave some more at 30%). Of course, be careful not to burn the chocolate or you'll be tossing it out. (The best way to avoid this is to not melt the chocolate all the way on the stove or in the microwave - melt it most of the way, and then stir it in the hot/warm butter to finish melting.)
Stir in the sugar until blended.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until thoroughly incorporated.
Stir in the vanilla until blended.
Stir in the flour until blended.
Stir in the nuts, if using.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake in preheated oven for 40-50 minutes, until brownies look done on top, but are still springy to the touch. If you like them chewy, err on the side of underbaking. Forty-three to forty-five minutes usually does it for me.
Cut into 2" squares while warm. I also like to dust mine with powdered sugar and cocoa powder. A little cinnamon might be nice, if you like that.
I make these brownies ALL THE TIME - they're easy as anything to make, and everybody LOVES them. Enjoy!

The Ultimate Brownie is my absolute favorite brownie. It is tall like a cakey-brownie, but is dense like a fudgy-brownie. I'm sure it will be one of your favorite brownie recipes too.
INGREDIENTS:
8- 1 ounce squares of unsweetened chocolate
1 cup butter
5 eggs
3 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2-1/2 cups chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted
PREPARATION:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a 9 x 13 pan.
Melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan over low heat; set aside. In a mixer, beat eggs, sugar and vanilla at high speed for 10 minutes**. Blend in chocolate mixture, flour and salt until just mixed.
Stir in the nuts. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes. (Don't overbake.) Cool and frost if desired, but that is not necessary.
** It's not required, but this is when it's very nice to own a stand mixer.
This is one of the best brownie recipes.

warmth oven to 350 stages for a 13 x 9 or 9 x 9 pan. Use 325 for an 8 x 8. Grease backside of pan. Stir brownie blend, a million/4 cup water, a million/2 cup vegetable oil and a pair of eggs till properly blended. unfold in pan. Bake for 28-half-hour for a 13 x 9, 35-40 minutes for a 9 x 9 or 50-fifty 5 minutes for an 8 x 8. brownies are achieved whilst a toothpick inserted 2 inches from the element of the pan comes out tremendously much sparkling.

1 box brownie mix
1 stick butter or margarine
1/4 cup milk
1 Oz. *** kicking marijuana
In a bowl, mix contents of brownie mix, milk and butter.
whip with a large spoon until desired consistancy.
Pre-heat oven to 400 Deg.
Once oven is heated, pour batter into aluminum pan and insert into oven. Cooking time is 25-35 min. While brownies are cooking, roll a big fatty, smoke it. Usually smokes best with an ice cold bud light.
Once the fatty is burned down, and you have finished the beer, roll another fatty and repeat. By the time the brownies are done, you should have no problem eating them, regardless of taste.

make them from scratch using the recipe on the back of the Baker's unsweetened chocolate box. I've been doing it this way for 20 years and everyone loves them.
notes about the recipe - i always use real butter. I use 2 extra large eggs instead of 3 eggs as called for. ( Recipes are created using medium eggs, I only buy xl, and 3 makes them too "cakey".) I use walnuts not pecans.

Honestly, I love to cook and bake, but I do not often bother to make cakes and brownies from scratch. They do not have the same texture as box mixes so many people do not like them, just get a box mix, it is much easier.
