At least it sounds as if you are getting recycling facilities. I've just had a bill for £25 for provision of a garden refuse wheelie bin - however, the binmen just empty it straight into the truck with the regular rubbish! I can't see where this so called recycling happens with my local council!
We don't have any other form of reycling even hinted at. I have to drive about 8 miles to the closest recycling plant - so do I do more damage to the environment by being environmentally friendly or by chucking it straight in the bin?

1. what about when they prosecute, for putting stuff in the wrong bin, they make money.
2, paying a trash guy, instead of giving benefit, they make money
3. making some people think they are doing great things, they get votes
4, anything that gets recycled, they dont have to landfile, hence landfils stay open longer, they make money
Its not to do with the environment.. its just the normal government confusion
Luckily the sweedish r leading the way on how to do it properly, they are doing micro generation, solar, bio fules based around replanting forests.
Recycling isnt a bad thing, its just done poorly.
Why is glass sorted into colours? what the hell do i care, if my next jar of value mayo, is pure clear glass. in berlin, they actually went the route, of mixing the colours..

It's all to do with the Landfill Tax:

The best way to be green (actually, the only way) is to not consume in the first place.
