is anyone else afraid of using the phone?

i have really weird phobia of phone calls, i have to make one now and it's important but i can't bring myself to do it. once i'm on the phone i'm fine but i just cant bring myself to make the call.

Lots of people are like that. Try promising yourself a treat after you have done it, a relaxing hour of me-time or a scone.

I am! At one point, I couldn't answer the phone and say, "Hello." So I said other things. And making a phone call now, I avoid it. But my problem is that I have a stuttering problem and anxiety. But I think it's mainly my stuttering that I'm more likely to do on the phone that I'm afraid of. I usually can't get any words out at all. Now I can answer the phone most of the time and make phone calls to people I know.

My hubby also has phobia of phone calls.

Sometimes he will not answer the call because he presumes that that person has got the wrong number.

I know it because my niece once called at home and he picked up the phone only when she called a second time.

I once called at home and he did not even pick the phone.

He doesn't even have a mobile phone.

Considering the number of "Wrong Number" and telemarketer calls I get on my line these days, It seems I may be developing a phobia of own phone. Oh well, only time will tell.

This is the first time I know someone afraid of using the phone.
Many people can talk on the phone for hours, especially girls.
I can talk on the phone for an hour with my girlfriends, and my mom as well.
What have you to fear? I don't understand.

I dont mind the phone,it makes things alot easier to say.

you and me both, jo, i dislike using a phone, but once the call has started i am fine. i usually let it ring and ring and ring before i pick it up

i m just afraid that somebody recording my calls cuz i always hear noise like.... tsssshhhhhhhhh
