it would be thrilling to renowned what the mixture difference in cell telephone minutes are from listening to and responding to the "For English, Press One" is. I agree, it is particularly stressful. possibly a generic default determination in the history, like pressing 9, would help. An determination that folk purely 'knew' approximately, yet would shop something persons from having to hearken to the alternative jointly as navigating with the aid of voicemail hell.

Why? Because companies want to market to as many people as possible, and speaking the country's second most popular language is certainly going to widen their customer base. Just be thankful that you don't hear Spanish press 1 and English press 2, or worse yet, the entire message in Spanish. Personally, I think that Spanish speaking people have the right to speak their native tongue, and it should be totally up to them to speak English (or not) if they so desire.

I think this is the best country in part because of the vast variety of cultures and mix of people living here. I walk down the street of NYC and can here half a dozen different languages within a couple blocks. To me, this diversity is wonderful! Living in this country should not mean that these different cultures should have to conform to ours, it should mean that they have the FREEDOM to live as they desire.

Its because not everyone is intelligent enough to learn English - those are the illegals - and the businesses want their money. Also, some of the beaners are too lazy to learn English and still think of themselves as Mexicans and not Americans even after they've gained citizenship. They should all go back south of the border!!!
Have you ever heard one of those automated devices say "press 3 for French, 4 for German, 5 for Swahili" etc.? Of course not, that's because the beaners are taking over!!

The language is one thing. I also think if you want the privileges of Americans then the selective service comes to mind. The protest in LA, now I was saying a million protesting, if we could get those 1 million to put on a uniform would, or could double the size of our military. I say lets form a compromise.

you got it. i too am sick and tired of catering to spanish speaking people only.

if it's mandatory for the US to cater to non english speaking people, then ALL languages should be offered as well not just spanish. i personally feel that it should be "press 2, to give you a list of ESL classes location in your area. If you do not wish to take ESL and can't speak English, then hang up and eat caca.

I totally agree. Find me any other country that bends over backwards to assimilate any other culture like we do. It does not happen. And you are right if they are SO proud of being Mexican then why are they here?
