Hawkers food are quite nice. Try the laksa, satay, grilled sting ray in banana leaf, and there chili chicken wings. For vegetables, try the fern shoots in belacan sauce.

Theres a nice row of hawker vendors past KFC, near the golden triangle at Bintang walk.

Now for a dose of fine dining, go to Shook. Its located at the Starhill mall. Its a fusion of malaysian, chinese and italian! Try it its fantastic!

If your adventurous try the durian fruit. Its got a strong pungent taste and it tastes milky. Some like it, some dont. I like the mangosteen fruit better. You can find fruit car in Bintang walk as well.

depends on what kind of food you are looking for. kuala lumpur has thousands of restaurants and hawker stalls that caters for the people living in the city. if you go to a mall, say klcc for example, you can savour many types of dishes from malay, chinese, indian, western, japanese, arabic, etc. perhaps you can be more specific in your question.

You may consider starting at the hotel, but once you get your bearings, I'd venture off to little restaurants off the beaten path...you may have more fulfilling local menus, prices, and authentic intercultural experiences. Ask for hot water to drink instead of cold, and no ice. Asia is awesome. Enjoy!

KL has quite nice food.

Hawker centres provide especially good food, especially for chicken rice. While the hygeine standards are not exactly the best in the world, it is still reasonably acceptable.
