Why do nonchristians think when we (christians) ask a question or give our opinion, we are trying to convert them? If nonchristians were not so sensitive about not believing in God, they would see that we are just answering or asking a question, like everyone else.

They are in a immoral defensive attack mode about anything and everything about religion which only shows that they are in psychological fear. They are worse than terrorists. If they don't in God,Heaven and Hell than they have nothing to fear when a believer approached them. I don't believe a christian or a religious person is constantly shoving their beliefs in their face. I believe they are making excuses for their guilty sinful convictions so they go and attack anyone in their path especially on this site. I don't send them emails nor do I approach them with my beliefs. If I was a non-believer I wouldn't dare come to this section because what would be the point. I wouldn't be searching for God nor would I mess with people who I would think are crazy for believing in who they called a "imaginary friend." They need help and much needed prayer.

Shalom

A serious answer for you:
Christians have a habit of continuing to quote the Bible as their source even after they have been told over and over again that someone does not believe in the authority of the Bible.

This would be like me telling you that my divine source of wisdom is People magazine--you would immediately say that you do not believe People magazine is divinely inspired and then I would continue quoting People magazine in an effort to argue my point. Eventually you would get irritated because you do not believe that People is the word of God, so why do I keep going on about it?

If someone does not believe the Bible is the word of God, then you cannot convince them that something is true or false or right ot wrong simply because the Bible says so.

The problem is that there are a lot of Christians on this site that just don't get the idea that some people don't believe in the Bible. Some tend to also be very rude and pushy with there views and idea's and are preaching as apposed to giving an answer.

Because MOST of you don't just answer a question, you push us to the wall about converting or changing our wicked ways. For once, I would like to see a so called Christian have an open honest debate without getting mad and turning red in the face when a "heathen" makes a valid point.

I'm a 'nonchristian' and I don't believe that. I always answer questions openly about my religion and also ask questions in return. Maybe the people you mix with are just narrow-minded.

not all non-christians are like that. I'm not a christian but i respect other religions and don't think their trying to convert me, i just listen what they have to say. Anyway i go to a catholic school anyway. People are just ignorant and think "there trying to convert me" it would happen to all religions as well. by the way im not part of a religion as i am still unsure what to believe in thats probably why i always keep open minded when hearing about other religion

It might be because people are constantly bombarded by the word of god. There are even people on here like mainworry that consistently respond to a question with pure scripture rather than a thought out answer. Also people are bombarded by people showing up at their front door trying to spread the word of god. It's no surprise that people think that it is happening here.

I agree. I recently asked the question of why they come to this topic if they have no interest and don't believe. They came out so defensively, it really made me wonder. There must be SOME reason that they keep coming back. Maybe it's because we have something that they don't have so they act like children and try to be annoying in order to taunt us for what we do have.

Your question should give you an idea as to the problem. You assume and state that Nonchristians are sensitive and that they do not believe in Divinity. Neither of these may be true.

What you do not seem to get is that it is possible to be highly devout to Divinity, very spiritual in outlook and nurturing to fellow humans without believing that Jesus Christ is the answer to every question.
