Maybe have diner in a comedy club? You'll have food and entertainment for a reasonable price and something to talk about after wards when you go down to a nice bar to close of the evening.

Cocktail-making contest and lots of good food, then strip Jenga followed by naked Twister (assuming the party is co-ed; if not, a strip-o-gram is always fun)

Have a barbecue with GOOD food, good drinks and apart from that, the people invited should make it a good party all by themselves.
