That "fear" describes just about everyone to some degree.

Nobody can ever force you to face your fears so you have to want to do it yourself. By asking the question you did, I think you must want to do so. So you have taken the first step required.

I tend to jump headlong into my fears once I have identified one. This has sometimes revealed other, previously undiscovered fears that I then have to deal with. However, I find that I usually feel so UP from just forcing myself to work on the problem that I want to work on it even more. Strangely enough, it isn't unusual for the fear to turn into a hobby. ;-)

Just keep in mind that the worst that will happen when you work on a fear is you'll be uncomfortable for a short while. If you can look forward to the feeling of accomplishment you'll have afterwards, that might be enough motivation to push you through the discomfort.

To put it simply: it depends. In order to beat a fear, two conditions must be met: 1. You confront it 2. You stay calm Confronting a fear only to freak out will actually reinforce it. Research into anxiety has demonstrated this repeatedly.

Use your fear.

Fear, creates adrenaline, it sets your heart racing and gives you a boost of energy. You can harness that energy and use it constrctively, to cope with change.

I used to be like yourself, unable to cope with change. I now work in a high stress environment and am taking promotion exams. Don't fear failure. Those at the top of their profession, have all failed at some time but are good at picking themselves and trying again.

Its strange to think that lifes winners, have all been losers!

Fear is a truly powerful force. Its job is to protect you from harm. But if you don't understand how it works, fear will conspire against you to deny you from experiencing the joy and happiness you deserve from life.
if you are too scared to go outside your self , there is still a way to conquer that. the first thing you should do is to do the things you are comfrtable with. If you love reading books or watching movies, so be it. then try to share it with your friends. you can ask yuour friends to come watch movies with you. and of course, compromise with them. On whatever they are comfortable doing, be with them. Come with them. So you have this one shared things, then try other things besides the one you are confortable with. Try this little by little, so in some ways you are leaving your comfort zones in little ways. Get that? then after that just try new things... new styles, new hubbies or new friends to share yourself with. Just be comfortable with yourself and love yourself that's it!

.Depends on what works for you but you can try to beat your fear by developing a greater comfort zone. I once had to go to BBC and learn how to talk to the press radio and TV this was outside my comfort zone but now i have done it i am aware of what to expect and therefore, not so scared.

Write down exactly what it is you fear. Then write down what you fear will happen. The idea is to reason with yourself clearly on paper - where the irrational should disappear and only justified fears remain.

set yourself daily targets.Slowly increasing your exposure to places you find uncomfotable. You can beat the problem but you will have to work at it.Have a chat with GP there maybe help in your area with the problem. But a good way to build up your confidence is to face up to it each day thereby increasing your confidence gradually.Your first port of call though is your GP.

i believe that you have to live the moment in order to over come the fear. what i mean is, if ur afraid of something, then do it, try it, 'if you never try you will never know' and then, the fear factor will decrease significantly! trust me, all you need to do is think about the concequences, which are usually minimal, and then do whatever is you are afraid of
