Vista is not yet on the market. It has no advantages. When Microsoft comes out with a new operating system, it is better than the system it replaced. So far the upgrades have not been worth the cost of the upgrades. Most people use what they have as long as it still works.

More than likely there will be new features that will render WINXP obsolete as time goes on. But there seems to be a trend to take freedom from the users and give it to the business peoples. I think MS is catering to the big boys and not little peoples.I worked for DEC sometime ago and they refused to compete they would only deal with the Fortune 1000 companies and as soon as competition entered they drop that product and go where no one else was but still they expected people to scrap for the jobs offered at their plants.

You will be forced to purchase new monitors, machines! It wants 2Gb of drive space just for the system!

Very bloated code base! Takes and uses 1Gb RAM, at the MINIMUM!

You might already have the VISTA patch set that had to be released for the Beta version! That's a FIRST!

You could run a really great OS right now, that is FREE to download!

In fact, Microsoft.com, hotmail.com, msn.com, and google.com all run it! http://pclinuxos.com is the user version, that comes with 5,000 free games, programs, and applications!
This LiveCDrom, is FREE!

You have to buy a bigger and powerfull processor, more Ram, a more powerfull video card, so the Microsoft and the tinny infections around it can make huge BUCKS on your hard working back. Use UNIX BSD, cheap, runs on a 16Mhz processor, needs only 4 mb ram, 16 mb ram on video card, and I can use my 3500+ processor and my 2 Gb of ram like I never knew I could...give it a try
