First you designate an archive to store your files like A.ZIP then select your options from the check boxes and pull down windows then add files by drag and drop or using ctrl or shift to select from a folder and that is all but if you use WInZip 9 or higher you then can encrypt and tighter compression then in older versions. I like Winzip very much have been using it for years. To be complete you should also have Win RAR and possibly Stuffit but Winzip is best all around i know.
