A nice spag bol with a side of salad and good crusty buttered bread.
I make huge pots in advance and freeze. Goes a long way to having something there ready to eat, even if theres nothing else in the cupboards.

i'd have the spag bol/lasagne try making it abit different than you normally use i put mixed peppers in mine serve with salad ,chips garlic bread and some wine.
make it into a special dinner why not have a nice starter and dessert .
fav of mine is pate stuffed mushrooms in breadcrumbs with garlic mayo. plain breaded mushrooms work ok too.
instead of cottage try mince pie made in deep casserole dish with puff pastry topping ,mince, onions, carrots peas and potatoes and gravy.
oh seen a recipe idea i fancied trying mini cottage pies using a cooked baked potato scoop out potato and mash fill with cottage pie mixture and put potato on top again and heat up in oven .
sounds different probably 2 potatoes per person.

Fry your meat and put it to one side. Then fry chopped up onion, swede and carrots until soft. add the meat.Add Salt, pepper and 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon and a teaspoon of fresh parsley and and thyme. Stir in a dessert spoon of plain flour to absorb the juices. Stir in a Tbl spoon of tomato puree. Turn the heat down and cook gently for 30mins stiring occasionally.
While it is cooking boil some potatos drain and mash with butter dont add any milk.
Spoon meat into a baking dish and spread the mash on top sprinkle sliced raw leeks on top of the potato and scatter with grated cheese.
Pop in the oven Gas 6, 400f (200c) for 25 mins or until the top is golden.

how about tacos??? can you find a store that sells mexican corn tortillas? premade taco shells will work to make it all easy...look up a recipe online if you need. brown the beef. add minced onions and garlic with a bit of cumin. buy some salsa too to top it off. garnishes are shredded lettuce, shredded cheese (jack, mild cheddar), salsa, fresh chopped onion, sour cream. prepare 2 or 3 for each person...along with refried pinto beans and possible spanish rice. all the info is online...find a site..you will start a new trend..be careful, people will really love it!!!

I would opt for crisp Irish potato fingers with a lil spice thrown on top. A bit of spagetti and a cabbage stew with steamed peas on light cream as well.

i might get some thing Italian which incorporate Pasta or Spaghetti Bolognaise, for starters you need to get some type of salad, in case you won't be ready to make salad, to no longer complication you need to circulate to your community Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's or Morrisons as they do Salad bar's frequently on the component of the freezer section. Then for significant direction as i discussed until eventually now, some type of Pasta and not in basic terms DOLMIO get suited boiled pasta upload a sauce which will nicely be Dolmio or any sauce available then for desolate tract you need to get some thing candy like treacle cake or some thing astonishing which will nicely be heated up. good success!
