refraction.

absorbtion is seen when an object appears dark. like a red shirt absorbing the green and blue light bands.

interference is when two waves of light will cancel each other out. you can hear this on the radio when two radio channels cause static.

scattering occurrs on any surface that causes any light that hits it to bounce in a random direction. this tends to create "ambient lighting" where objects around a light source are lit in a softer intensity.

refraction. as the light goes from one medium (air) to another (glass) its speed is changed ever so slightly so that it does a slight direction change. thats how prisims and lenses bend light
