People should be more careful but I believe that if they help these illegals, they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

But, it all comes down to the enforcement. If you have 'sanctuary' cities where they're fighting against having the law enforced, you have a schism, a division, between the national policy and local policy. A law that's unenforced is no real law at all, which is why it's important for people to try and write their city councils/attend meetings/read more about the whole mess in order to come up with good coherent ideas on how to deal with the problem and end illegal immigration...and maybe take a Good Hard Look at immigration in general insofar as the future of the country is concerned....what happens to our agriculture at baby 1/2 billion?
Law enforcement? Civic order? Language? Education? All of these things will be important, oh and let's not forget trash, sewer, water and electricity...jobs? medical care? Politics?
That's an interesting one, we're already seeing signs of Mexico's political 'voice' in the United States....

What do you mean when you say that people should be aware and careful of the "implications" of supporting illegals? I read your snippet of the law, and if people and employers violate these
provisions they are liable under the law. But this is a discussion board, and your question here "shouldn't you be more careful"
implies that people are violating the law by saying thiings in "support" of illegals. I would refer you to the First Amendment, but you know where it is, it's the one right before the Second Amendment.

The US citizens who hire, aid and abett Illegals should be vigorously prosecuted.
It does NOT depend on why they are here if they are here illegally. They suck up social service dollars without ever having added to the program, and drive down the available wage for any given activity that they are involved in.

It depends on why they're here. Immigrants add to the pool of eligible workers in a country. Most aren't terrorists - they just want a place to live.
