It really makes no sense at all..
especially if you take genetics into consideration. Now that is something that is scientifically proven.
I am not making excuses for bad people.
However, if God is "testing people to see how they handle life' , then why didn't he make everyone exactly the same?
Why are some better looking, more predisposed to anti social behavior, some have a higher sex drive than others, some have had a very traumatic upbringing.
There are too many factors which go into a person's behavior that make them more or less predisposed or tempted to 'sin".
And what about people of every different level of handicap? What of them?
So it really just doesn't add up when Christians throw a blanket explaination on the meaning of life as a "test" of all mankind from some old man in the sky who is reading our thoughts and watching every single little action.
'Not only do I think Christians who believe this are immature, unevolved and ignorant for thinking something which was an explaination to life which should have been thrown out the window 500 years ago, but I think they also have the whole idea wrong in their heads.

Bottom line is: anyone who thinks that someone who rapes and murders children is the same as someone who lives a good life but renounces Jesus,
is an **shole.
And THEY should probably go to hell for being such an idiot jerk.

first of all bad Christians Will not be in heaven because if you only say your christian and don't live the roll of that life by not seriously trying to lead a pure life and think well i take this hundred dollars from the register and buy a pair of jeans then once i get a way with it I'll ask for forgiveness that would be a joke and god is all knowing and knows they truly don't mean it when they ask because they will just turn around and do it again see the kind of people that have the thought process i will do what i want now and tomorrow i will ask for forgiveness believe in Christ but do not truly know him however all people that are forgiven will be brought before the Father without blemish read your bible the are those who live the life and those who claim to live the life no such thing as bad or good Christians they either are or not

First of all a sin is a sin no matter if you sin a little or alot. In God'S eyes a sin is a sin. So there for it is His call what rewards Christians get and non christians. You need to study on this.Get yourself a good old King James Bible.................not the new version......
Start with the book of Romans...........like Romans 3:23

I read that Purgatory is for Christians that are supposed to be punished and cleansed for their sins before they're allowed into Heaven.

If that's the case, good Christians and bad Christians ultimately get the same reward, but the bad Christians have to go through some "different stages" before being let into Heaven.

---

As far as I know, this is supposed to be Catholic doctrine. Purgatory isn't Hell, it's a pit stop along the way to Heaven for Christians who aren't free from venial sin.

God makes it clear in the bible that those who choose to follow Him and keep His commandments will get more rewards in HEAVEN, and that is the place that we christians keep our eyes fixed on. We will receive more jewels in our crowns. He will bless us and protect us on earth for following Him and being faithful, no doubt there. People who sin less do go to heaven, but with less reward,,,they could have had so much more. And they will be judged on judgment day for all they have done! Never Fear!

People who sin less and do God's will more will receive the greater reward (If they repent and ask God to change them).

There is a point when a Christian will not be rewarded and go to Heaven (God is the judge) because they sin to much (and do not ask God to forgive them and change them) and do little of what God wants.

Good or bad, noone will see Heaven unless they believe in Jesus Christ wholeheartedly.
Mat 20:1 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard.
Mat 20:2 And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
Mat 20:3 And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
Mat 20:4 And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way.
Mat 20:5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise.
Mat 20:6 And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle?
Mat 20:7 They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.
Mat 20:8 So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard saith unto his steward, Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
Mat 20:9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny.
Mat 20:10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny.
Mat 20:11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,
Mat 20:12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day.
Mat 20:13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?
Mat 20:14 Take that thine is, and go thy way: I will give unto this last, even as unto thee.
Mat 20:15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?
Mat 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.
How do you explain this?

No, you have different rewards in heaven to my understanding. How God determines that I do not know I guess I we will all find out when we get there. The way I have always thought about it is that God puts you through things on earth to see how you will handle it and maybe that is how he determines what you will be given in heaven. I think he gives us things to take of to be responsible for in Heaven. These are just my thoughts.

In 1 Cor 3 verse 11 - 15. It talks about believers building on the foundation which is Jesus Christ.

Then on the Day, Jesus will test what we believers, after receiving Christ, have done in this life (our works) using fire. If we have done well we will receive a reward. If not, we will suffer loss.

We will be judged according to our deeds but it is faith that makes us Christians. Those with faith the size of a mustard seed(which is pretty small) will have salvation.
