I want to type using all 10 fingers. How do you people learn it? (No, I can't go back to school just for this). Is there any freeware or shareware that teaches you? Or some inexpensive software?

help me if you can. I'm sick of typing with 6 fingers out of ten and making all those typos.

Serious answers only, please.

I have been using one called "Keyboarding Pro". It is the only one I use. I don't really like the other ones because they teach you too much too fast. And some of the letters look the same like L and 1 and G and Q (lowercase of course). Popcap games has a good one called "Typer Shark". Love that one too, cause it is a game, type the words on the shark. Lessons, speed tests to see what level you are at, have fun with it. If you prefer, there are many. Including Mavis Beacon (I don't personally like it), and ones called "Typing Tutor". You may not find Keyboarding pro, I can send in a mail if you like, but typer shark is available. Can search for it or I can send it too.

Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. Its not free, but its not expensive, and works on Mac or PC. I use it, and I am a pretty fast typist!

A few free programs here:

http://www.fonlow.com/kptypingtutor/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/typefaster
http://www.askmesoft.com/maxtype_lite.htm
http://www.typingsoft.com/stamina.htm

None of them are great, but they all do the job.

There's also some good tips here:
