You CAN get approved while on probation, but it's not a sure thing, there are many factors that play a part in the approval process but a letter from your PO will help a lot. If you were a co-defendant in your fiance's case, your chances are slim to none, and the same applies if your case involved domestic violence or drug distribution, but all you can really do is get the letter from your PO, fill out the 106 and cross your fingers.
Here is a great place for all your questions about dealing with the CDC....

A. Most jails and prisons will not allow visitors who are felons. So, if you were convicted of a misdemeanor, you may still be allowed to visit. B. Your terms and conditions of probation probably indicate you should not be associating with certain people... like those on parole, those using or possessing drugs or alcohol, etc... Check the rules carefully before you try to visit your friend.

Had some friends in TX years ago in the same situation. In their case, the terms of her probation prohibited any contact with known felons. That included her fiancee. The PO (admittedly a prick but completely within the law) flatly refused to allow it and the folks in Huntsville wouldn't allow her in the gate without paperwork from the PO.
Their case ultimately had a happy ending when his conviction was set aside due to some serious misconduct by the prosecution but my ex and I spent many a sleepless night with her and their baby waiting for the eventually happy outcome.

Most prisons have a policy of "no" without review by the superintendent or like administrator.
So more than likely your probation officer will have to submit in writ ting your request.

If the terms of your probation are typical they state no contact with known felons, so you won't get near a prison! I'd be really surprised if the PO said it was ok with him.

Yes u should be able to visit him, as long as there's not no type of no contact order on your terms of probation.

legally no youre not allowed. they do a background check on the people who are on the visitation list. and it would come up that youre on probation.

probably not, visitation policies require a clean record which you do not have. you are considered a threat to the security of the operations of the prison, even with permission of your PO you still need clearance of the prison which you probably will not get. guess you will just have to wait 4 years.
