Don't go there is my answer ! Some things are not to be disturbed and take their advice ! My sister in law did this and the glass flew off the board and smashed against the kitchen cupboard. She had very disturbing dreams after this and felt someone getting into her bed ,this got worse to the point that she could not stay in the house any longer and at one time would not speak for days she has been in and out of phsychiatric hospital ever since. She claims that the spirit that she contacted was S... and that he would throw things around the the house and fondle her etc , Very scary stuff ! don't go there and get a bible because you are being tempted and need protection . Be careful >

When I was about fourteen I went to a birthday party. They had letters and a glass on a table and we all sat around with a finger on the glass. Nothing happened and so someone said to blow the spirit out of the glass. So I blew into the glass and put it back down. Immediately the light bulb above the table came down and broke the glass and the room became dark. We were extremely spooked and I never wanted to try that again. It was my warning not to tamper with the occult.
Later I read in the Bible that God told the people not to try to speak to the dead. And still later someone told me that there are spirits who are around people when they are alive and know everything about that person. A "familiar spirit" but when someone dies their own spirit sleeps and cannot be contacted. The "familiar spirit" can be contacted and appear to be the person who has died, and so tell many things that are convincing. The trouble is what they say can be 90% truth and 10% lies. And the 10% lies may ruin a good life very subtly. Since my experience as a young person and being told who you may actually be contacting...perhaps evil spirits who may direct you in wrong ways or lead you astray....I have always steered clear of Ouija boards and occult dabbling since. We have a natural curiosity about such things especially if we long to hear from lost loved ones. But it could be very dangerous.

I've had a very MINOR scary experience with one when I was 13 or so, just the glass shooting off the board and bouncing across the floor, lights flicking on and off and a quite oppressive atmosphere in the room where it was done... I think people reognise the dangers of the Ouija board because of the possibility of a negative entity coming through and attaching itself to one of the participants. Most spiritualists would maybe agree that spirit attachment does occur and can cause a variety of symptoms, from depression to addiction problems.

Ouija boards open a means of communicating and interacting with spirits one the other side, and although this may seem like a good thing it can be dangerous because there are no guarentees about the person you will reach. There is a possibility of reaching negative or evil beings and allowing them the means to access you, thus endangering yourself.

I will not so much as go near them but several friends have had bad experiences. One of which was having a party and they started being crude with their questions and angered whomever they were communicating with, and things started to shake, walls of shelves fell, etc.

Its just better to be precautious when dabbling with "the unknown"

People telling you its dangerous to do it alone are right, you must never do it on your own. As forr never doing it, well that is just plain silly.
I have a Ouija board which I bought while on holiday about 5 yrs ago from Salem, Massachusetts, it is made from the trees from the Salem forest, where they notoriously hung witches from and burnt.
I used it plenty of times and never had a bad experience but then I was never on my own and was made sure my humour was good and I was feeling good.
Negativity is drawn to negativity, if your just messing about with it, your gonna get a nasty result , unless your a serious person and there is a real reason why you want to do this then fine but otherwise, don't mess with what you know nothing about!

Try watching the film White Noise. Despite being a Hollywood dramatisation it is fairly close to reality. The film is about contacting spirits on the 'other side' and consequences of doing so. The film concludes by saying that about 1/3 of the messages that are received are threatening and evil in nature. Bottom line is that it can result in possession by a variety of 'homeless spirits' be they nice friendly ones, nasty ones, or outright demonic ones, as hanging round with you is far nicer than hanging around in Hell. Do you really want to have a Hell bound spirit as your best mate? Those spirits that made it to Heaven have got better things to do!

Those people who do play with Ouija boards should be prepared to pay the consequences of their actions.

The fear is all in your own mind and if you want to see ghosts you will. There used to be hundreds of ghosts in the countryside but they were all banished with the arrival of electric lights. The taboo effect opens your imagination to Ouija ghosts a lot of people are no more scientific than they were in the middle ages and are just as gullible not too long ago some people believed everything they saw on television.

People just think they've had an experience and try to make it sound all mysterious and scary. It's a load of crap. I mean really....when I saw that my friend's ouija board was made by Mattel (or some common board game company) it was all over for me.

Hmm.. i don't wish to try it, not saying that im scardy cat, but it's better to leave the dead some peace, that's true.

If you bothers them, they'll haunt u down. Wahahahaha!~

There's some sort of this 'game' my friends played, its like placing a small plate on the board and everyone will place their finger tips on the plate. If u ask who's your future husband or something, it will eventually move by itself and give u the answer, the thing is, never let go of the plate or you'll have bad stuffs coming.
And if the spirit don't wish to go, you'll need to feed it for the rest of ur life. ...hmmm?

for what its worth.... first thing stay away from them..but if you are one of those that insist on trying it-- never, never use one alone...i am probably the least superstitious person you'll ever meet...but i do know there are spirits...good and bad...im not talking about ghosts and crap... probably more in the realm of demons and angels..anyhow this is usually how it goes... at first, you will ask it questions and it will be pretty helpful... stupid crap, like where you lost your ring or car keys ... but as time goes on and you get more bold in using the damn thing... it will become more ...mmmmm... malevolent towards you ...it will start requiring more from you ... i dont know how else to put it man--- you open a door and the ones coming through it aint so nice
