It is not a question at all. I think that you are trying to get your own job of report writing by others. This does not fall within the objectives of Yahoo Answers. However, I can try to tell you some points on your subject matter.
Wasteful expenditure in the marriage ceremony just makes a show down of your money to others. It neither helps the newly married couple nor the society. In this world where a large number of people starve days after days here we can serve the mankind by saving money from the wasteful expenditure of any kind. Even if we do not do so, we can at least spend the money for the newly married couple to build their future life in a befitting manner.

Marriage is a public declaration of love and commitment between two committed people. A lot of couples invoke a divine mandate to further legitimize the ceremony, but not all. To me the only time a marriage is wasteful, is if the parties involved had to go in debt to finance the occasion. I think it's pretty dumb to start out life together in debt.
The ceremonies , and the parties after, are celebrations of joy, and happiness. Why is that wasteful? From the poorest cultures to the most affluent, we all engage in some form of this ritual.

Sounds like you're trying to get us to do your homework - go do it yourself.
Keep in mind that what one person thinks is a wasteful expenditure might not be what someone else thinks. It could be a tradition or it could be their way of making their wedding day unique.
