7 years ago, I lost 100 lbs.

It took me about 2 years to lose all of the weight. I did it by actually eating more. I just started having smaller, more frequent meals that included healthier choices.

I did not exercise a great deal although I did walk every day.

I have kept the weight off for the last 7 years. My motivation was simply being sick and tired of being sick and tired. Carrying around all of that extra weight was truly exhausting.

Good luck.

I lost 20lbs.

For a year so far.

My motivator was reading LOTS of fitness magazines that kept fuelling my brain with new things to try!

My advice: Otherwise, you need to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.

Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Good luck and stick at it.

I don't weigh but i went from a size 18 pants to a size 11. I do Atkins and my motivation was Chocolate and cheesecake and steak and broccoli and cheese and yogurt and all sorts of goodies I can now eat. I eat less because I'm not hungry and I have extra energy to be busy doing fun stuff. The knowledge that I could go and get a snack anytime and not be cheating is a powerful thing. I feel so much better now that even if I didn't lose the weight I wouldn't change the diet.

I went on the 6week body make over by michael thurmond. It works great but its too strict for me to follow- you might wnat to check into it though; check out provida.com and click on the make over link. I lost 20lbs in the first two weeks - all healthy.

Motivation for me is seeing success stories be it on line, magazines or anything you can dig up. Working out is key.. I do cardio 5 times a week an hour each and i strength train 4 times a week - i love it. If you just lose weigh but dont work out you're going to look like a deflated baloon with everythin drooping.

Over all I've lost 50 lbs and have kept it off for 2 years.

I work in a cardiac surgery unit, the heavy patients i see having heart surgery because of their lifestyles is quite the motivation, actually. I see the fat they sometimes take out of coronary arteries, the surgeons save it for the patients to see. I lost 30 lbs. kept it off. You have to decide for youself to lose the weight, then change your lifestyle, a trainer may or may not help. If you pay for a trainer and a gym membership, will that motivate you to change your eating habits, it might, but eating is a social activity with lots of meaning and connection, you have to change what you eat and how. It can be very hard.

the abs diet is great. it is safe. it doenst regulate portions bc it doesnt have to. when i started i would make a huge plate like i used to and then not finish half of it. it is real food. they have meals that take less then 10 min to make. they only restrict the consumption of 3 things High Fructose Corn Syrup, Trans Fats, and Saturated fats. this is the antidiet. you get to eat 6 times a day and you will be satisfied all day long. I have turned a couple people on to the abs diet and all of them have loved it. I tellem its an 8 dollar book that will change your life. plus its down right funny to read.

20 lbs first 6 weeks
10 the next 6

good luck

I actually have a lot of weight to lose too. i'm 17 and characteristic lost 6 pounds via fact the beginning up of June. Very slow technique yet 8-10 a month is healthy! heavily, there is not any magic secret. consume much less, excercise greater! pills and crash diets like slimfast are undesirable information via fact pills do no longer artwork and with crash diets, you frequently earnings the load lower back. you may desire to look up your BMR and then subtract 500-seven-hundred energy. which will inform you the way plenty to consume an afternoon. you may study greater approximately calorie counting or seek advice from a doctor via fact it may get complicated. in case you consume too little, you're physique will clinge directly to each little thing you DO consume. Do cardio three times a week for a minimum of a nil.5 hour. Lifting weights builds muscle, and muscle burns fat. Drink a lot of water! change to entire wheat breads and pasta (white is processed and breaks down on your physique like sugar). I recommend eggs for breakfast, they are very filling. in case you get quickly food or pass out to consume, gets youngster's food! component sizes are ridiculous presently and teenagers food are the sizes they could easily be. sturdy luck!
