Are you serious? You're using Pravda as your source and claiming it is credible? If this were true, National Geographic would be all over it, as well as every other news agency. This would be the most significant archeological find in the history of the world! You don't consider the Bible as a credible sourse, but you list pravda as yours?!?!? Get real.

The Bible is the most credible historical document of antiquity. No other will be found to rival it, because if there was, it WOULD be found by now. Two things make the Bible credible. First, the sheer number of documents and fragments we have, dating relatively close to the events that happened. This helps us to know that the Bible is uncorrepted, something we cannot say about any other ancient history. Second, there has never been anything found to contradict the Bible. If the Bible says a certain person was governor in a certain region at a certain time, we have only found evidence that proves these claims, not that disproves. Of course, there are many that we still cannot find evidence for or against, but where there is evidence, it agrees with the Bible.

There is a huge difference between Christians, a religion of faith, and the understanding of first causes. Many Christians believe the genesis account is a poetic account. “Do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years, as one day.” – 2 Peter 3:8

In the same bible is a different account, that is more factual.

“The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I have been established from everlasting, from the beginning, before there was even an earth. When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth; while as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, or the primal dust of the world.

When He prepared the heavens, I was there, when He drew a circle on the face of the deep, when He established the clouds above, when He strengthened the fountains of the deep, when he assigned the sea its limit, so that the waters would not transgress His command, when He marked out the foundations of the earth, then I was beside Him as a Master Craftsman.” -- Proverbs 8:22-30

How would anyone back then know that the Earth had a beginning? Until the “Big Bang” was accepted, most people believed in an eternal universe.

How would anyone back then know that the mountains arose and were not created when the Earth was created? I do not think this took one day. The primal dust sounds like atomic particles. Who else in 4,000 BC spoke of this? How long did it take to prepare the heavens? Again, it does not sound like one day.

Figuring out how to set limits on the waters and the foundations of earth sounds like a powerful science, and maybe even some trial and error. Science is finding our universe is highly designed.

Who was the Master Craftsman? If there was noting then then the Master Carpenter existed, then when did this happen? A Master Craftsman designs and builds.

Regardless, this is an awesome for the time, and to me, a more realistic account of creation.

To begin with, the article says clearly that the two shells found in-crusted in the map could very well have already been petrified BEFORE hand. Because of that statement, there's no proof that the maps IS that old (120 million years).

As far as creation goes, Christians believe that the Bible talks about a PRE Adamic creation. In other words, the creation story we all know would be the SECOND (or perhaps third or forth) creation. There may be objects buried in the earth that are far more ancient that 120 million years old.

This is all I've found on the topic:

"Very little is found on the internet concerning this discovery aside from the same Pravda article being repeated on site after site. No real discussion by scientists from the either side of the debate have commented on the find. I could only find a few pictures of the object that really did not look like anything. But I did eventually find one article on the Pravda web site which gives a little more detail on the map."

"With the lack of scientific evaluation of the stone we are only left with one groups interpretation of the stone slab and its authenticy and antiquity cannot be established with any degree of certainty."

P.S. -- I think enough has been said about what you consider "CREDIBLE SOURCE."

The teachings of Christianity has messages beneath the stories told. These stories may be considered myths which are prevalent at that time that's why a good Christian should meditate on God's message as told in the myths or stories, and not to take them literally.

A personal question might be asked in this way: What is God's message for me when I read this particular story in the Bible? And how will I apply this in my daily life so that I will become a good citizen to my neighbors?

There is sufficient, scientific evidence not to believe in evolution and to believe that the earth is fairly young. There are several good resources available at http://www.icr.org/.

Regarding the Bible, it is the most reliable book of antiquity we have on the planet. Read Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell for yourself and reconsider the Bible's credibility.

From a moral perspective, the evils of mankind we have all witnessed quickly leads to distruction of life. The fact that humans are alive now at least suggests that the earth is young because we have not destroyed ourselves....yet!

Why accept the Bible as irrefutable proof. mythology agreed..
upon. A favorite love poem, first and last stage of evolutionary soul mates.
Evolution

By Langdon Smith (1858-1908)

When you were a tadpole and I was a fish
In the Paleozoic time,
And side by side on the ebbing tide
We sprawled through the ooze and slime,
Or skittered with many a caudal flip
Through the depths of the Cambrian fen,
My heart was rife with the joy of life,
For I loved you even then.

Today

Then as we linger at luncheon here
O'er many a dainty dish,
Let us drink anew to the time when you
Were a tadpole and I was a fish

If Bush could read , he would call this poem in its entirety a type of Intelligent Design

i cant imagine this question not pissing off bible thumpers everywhere,, as for such ancient maps,, it could be a fraud. the thumpers are astute a deitys days are a bit longer then a mortals, as for grand design well its not in the bible,, but we see proof there were big creatures running around,, and i have found people that believe that dinos are fake,, regardless, dinos would have proved fatal to a bi pedal simian creature, such a creature like us , with no set breeding patern or mating season could easily mutate or evolve,, into what we see in the mirror every day... not monkeys like people argue about common misconception or a way to make a thoery seem less true and more cynical,,but what am i saying none of this could possibly be true,,i thumbed thru the bible and didnt see none of this,,guess the dino bones at the local museum are in my imagination...

Dear UncleGeorge,

The Bible does not teach that the earth is only 6000-7000 years old.

I am an old-earth step-wise creationist (a Christian) who believes that the earth is about 4.5 billion years old.

You are right about Evolution being wrong...
--
It is relevant to note that...

Darwinism is ultimately a statement of Atheist Faith.

As Evolutionist Stephen J. Gould has stated, evolutionists "know" that Evolution has occurred; however, there is controversy about the mechanisms involved. In other words, evolutionists are arguing and fighting about the mechanisms involved.

This is code-speak for the fact that evolutionists "believe" that evolution happened without God, but they dont really know exactly how. They have a bunch of conjectures and speculations, but they do not have empirical proof of atheistic macro*evolution.

--
There is no evidence that proves Atheistic MacroEvolution (without Intelligent Design)...

I used to believe in Evolution. However, over a period of time I have grown skeptical of the claims of Macro*Evolution... this is largely due to the weakness of the evidence for Macro*Evolution, and the fact that the evidence, rationally interpreted does not support the overarching claims made by Macro*Evolutionists...

For scientific and intellectual critiques of evolution, see http://www.godsci.org/gsi/apol/evo/00.html .

Is Evolution a FACT? Not really -- not in the macro*evolutionary sense. See http://www.godsci.org/gsi/apol/evo/evofaq2.html for relevant discussion.

---
I find that the vast majority of people who believe in evolution, do so by faith and authority.

Faith -- because atheistic macro*evolution is a faith; and Authority -- because they believe in the word of "experts" in the field, rather than truly understanding the evidence themselves.

Cordially,
John

Its simple...
When the Heavens and the earth were created they just didnt appear. Something physical had to actually happen. The "physics" of the earth's, and of man's creation is explained from a humans point of view, as the evolution theory
