My brother is 21 years old, doesn't have a job, abuses my mom, my dad and me physically, mentally and emotionally everyday...the problem is he is diognosed with depression and my parents are stuck in this circle and don't know wether they should call the police or not or send him to a mental health hospital. my brother is seeing a psychiatrist and does take pills for his depression but the psychiatrists and the doctors don't seem to undertsand how bad he actually treats allof us. It's very bad!!! i don;t know what to do because i cant take it anymore with the abuse and his selfishnes and lazyness and crazyness. I think anyone in his situation would be deprressed but i dont think that is an excuse to abuse your family like theyr are worthless road kill. I don't know what to do!! please help!

If he is a danger to himself or others than he needs to be placed in a hospital for a mental evaluation. Most states have a 72 hr mental application to ensure that he seeks help. Call the police if it gets out of hand. I wonder if there is drug use involved?

You need to let your parents know what your brother is doing not only to you but the entire family. Tell them you will call the police if he becomes abusive. You need to protect yourself from him the best way you can. If your parents don't listen, then perhaps you should talk to his psychiatrist - if you're in danger, then someone needs to know....otherwise, call the police. Best wishes.

ok..this may sound weird..but id better tell u anyway coz i was in a state of depression for quite some time too..
im sure hes feelin bad about how hes behavin..n that infact i fell is making him feel worse..its like a re-depression.
since u havnt mentioned the cause-i wont even want u to do so since its personal.
keep trying to talk to him-again do not accuse him/argue since matters might get worse.
do not take things too hard on yourself either coz ul end up feeling bad too-god forbid!

You know he is sick? Don't you? And these are the symptoms of this sickness. What would U do to a sick person? Care for him, not thinking that he is offensive and I think he needs better TREATMENTS from doctors and family members. I pity the situation in which U and your family is, but unless U hate him enough, you will think of handing him over to COP!

He's very dirty for beating on y'all. He needs 2 go 2 the mental hospital. I suffer depression & don't even lose my temper on people.

Call the cops. Let professionals handle him. If he needs to be in a hospital, he will be.

Hook him up with a girl you really hate. Let him take it out on her. That way, its double-jackpot for you.( And i think your brother will be pacified after having intimate physical contact with a girl)know what i mean?..
