As long as you made it, it'll be the best gift for a girl. The girl will think you are amazing because you put time and thought into the gift and it can be as simple as fingerpainting a coffee cup or a picture frame.

Best chance is to ask her best friends what she's dying to have!
But if you don't have those connections, just buy something with a bit of thought behind it- what are her interests? what's her fav. color, etc. and she'll appreciate all the effort you put in.

IF YOU LIKE HER THAN YOU SHOULD KNOW HER PERSONALITY. BUY SOMETHING THAT MATCHES HER. IF SHE IS A ROMANTIC THEN BUY HER HER FAVORITE FLOWERS AND SOME CHOCOLATE. IF SHE IS AN ATHLETIC GIRL THEN BUY HER A BALL FROM HER FAVORITE SPORT AND TAKE HER TO PLAY, ONE ON ONE IS ALWAYS FUN. IF SHE IS INTO BOOKS THEN BUY HER A BOOK FROM ONE OF HER FAVORITE AUTHORS. Do you just like her or are you actually dating her? If it's just like, don't give her anything. It looks like you're trying to buy her affection (and if it works, you don't want that kind of girl anyways). Just compliment her and treat her nicely and with respect.
