Many Christians talk about a worldwide government that will signal the second coming, which they call the "New World Order". I was wondering if this is specifically mentioned in the bible, or if it is just how ultraconservatives have manipulated the bible to suit their purposes of being anti-UN or other global efforts.

It comes from this passage along with several others.

Revelation 13:11 Then I saw another beast rising out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb and it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercises all the authority of the first beast in its presence, and makes the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose mortal wound was healed. 13 It performs great signs, even making fire come down from heaven to earth in front of people, 14 and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. 16 Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18 This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.

It's the Baha'i Faith!!! There will be one world gov't and one world religion. This religion has started, it's the Baha'i Faith. In time, the entire world will be Baha'i. Already there is international law with the United Nations. This will expand to include religion (Baha'i).

Btw, the UN has Baha'i roots. Eleanor Roosevelt was a Baha'i, and the only reason FDR wasn't a Baha'i was because he would have to give up office. Otherwise, his beliefs were Baha'i beliefs. And we know that he started the League of Nations, which became the United Nations. The UN was prophesied by Baha'u'llah, Prophet Founder of the Baha'i Faith. The Baha'i Faith has always been very closely involved with the UN. Its roots are Baha'i.

The phrase "New World Order" and similar phrases have been used by Christian fundamentalists for decades to discuss their interpretation of prophecy in the Bible's book of REVELATION.

One reading of the text is that in the End Times the Anti-Christ will oversee the creation of a global one world government and one world religion.

Nah, it may be in revelations, but anyone with a lick of sense dismisses that as the ergot induced hallucination the author says it is a t the start . If there ever IS a world govenrment, it won't bode well for the Fundamentalists of any religion, because they will have to realize that they aren't better than everybody else, and they will be forced to behave themselves and follow the norms of society

there is not any "unique textual content of the Bible". each faith commencing with the Roman Catholics began to take particular codices of the be conscious and those monks Canonized them as being the actual be conscious from God. How can that be even as guy did the choosing and choosing of that were the authentic "recognize God" and something else became garbage. guy can not make that call and that i do not care what type of "humorous hat" he wears. My philosophy is Kindness

Yes. I believe the New World Order marks the time when the anti-christ comes to reign. I believe you can find it mentioned in Revelations.
