I think that the last days were when people were waiting for Jesus to return after his ascension.
He did come back in the form of the Holy Spirit about 40 days later in the "Upper Room".
Right?

The book of Revelation is not meant to be taken literally. It is not describing actual, literal events, and is not meant to be a prophecy. It is meant to be read as allegory, and was originally written for the early Church being persecuted by the Romans. It was meant to reassure them that in the end times, God would be victorious over evil. It is meant to be comforting actually, not frightening.
