Voodoo is a reconized religion. It whould only be dangerous if it was attemped without study and belief. Voodoo is not used for only hexes and curses. It is a way of life for some. Like any religion you must learn it and respect its beliefs and practices. If fear is felt for something then why pursue to inquire about it? That is what makes it dangerous. Alot of misconcepions and opinions. When people are afraid of something alot of false information is given because they fear to understand. Better to remain silent than open your mouth and give foolish thoughts on a subject not researched or understood

Read the book “The Serpent and the Rainbow”. DO NOT WATCH THE MOVIE, Wes Craven turned a classic book into a cheesy low dollar horror movie. The Book is about Wad Davis who was hired by a large pharmaceutical company to investigate a “zombie powder” in Haiti. Also look into Santeria, which is a cross between Catholicism and Voo-Doo

Voudon can be harsh -- very harsh. It can also be powerful, both socially and emotionally. The Serpent and the Rainbow is an excellent book to start with; the religion is not something to approach lightly. Houngans play for keeps.

Its only dangerous to the human social point of view. It means, that if I beleive in voodoo, or any non western proven scientific belief, I can make it as strong as anything. It all ends up to how strong your faith is into a reason, belief or way of thinking.
