My panic attacks are related to being in particular situations. The feeling of "I'm going to die " is a product of panicking.

If you are really and truely worried about death you need to figure out what kinda of afterlife you believe in... *( or heaven or hell )*... I recommend you go to a christian church and talk to a minister or someone about death... and ask lots of questions... they like that... With panic attacks... I agree with what their saying.. I never fully understood or knew what was going on with me... until i did my own research... your doc has 15 min in the room with you.. including the examination time... u can browse the internet and find out more info that what u would at the docs... I agree with the other person, i also NOW that i know and can feel one coming on... I take my mind of everything i was thinking about and i breath a ton and sometiems ill try to read like a magazine or something... that has helped a lot... i still feel like my chest is tight and a lump sometiems in my throat for a while afterwards but hey its better then letting one reach its peak.......
hope u can find this helpful!

Been there and done that, it is scary, isn't it?
Do yourself a favor and research tonite on this, you will find out what your body is doing and why it affects your body as it does.
My doctor put me on a beta blocker med and antianxiety med, but you know when I learned to RELAX when I felt one coming on, stop and take a DEEP breath and let it out slow a few times, this would naturally slow the heart rate down, and I would feel in control again.
I have been driving in the past and would feel one coming on and have to pull off the side of the road for a while, been in the store in line, and feel one coming on.
Yes, you do feel like you are going to die, your heart feels like it is pounding, you break out in a cold sweat, you wonder what am I going to do, just croak right here in front of everyone.
This is ALSO the same reaction your body has to STAGE FRIGHT, believe it or not.....
Research this and you will find you are not alone. Please practice the breathing exercises, they do help.
Good luck.

I can imagen it being more the other way around. Tightness of chest, difficulty breathing, increase in pulse rate can all make you feel like your dying, or something more is going on. So worrying about that could cause even more anxiety leading to more panic attacks.

Do you get panic attacks? Because having one will make you think that u are dying. I have to say when I was away for the summer one year I used to be afraid to go to sleep at night because I used to dream of dying. Does that make sense?

I used to after my mon dies, then I developed a Strong relationship with GOD & I pray about it everytime it happens.

i would suggest talking to a doctor about it, or it could really destroy your life quality.
I got really sick, developed stomach problems & all that junk.
I now take Lexapro for stress & anxiety issues.
Good luck
