Catholics are the only actual organized religion Christians. Those other folks are perpetrators whose religion was founded by a constipated monk. I will say it again for all of you born again crazies out there, CATHOLICS ARE THE ONLY REAL ONES!

yes Catholics are Christians. The word Catholic means universal Christian. Here is a Creed that states everything we believe in:
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
He came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
He became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.
On the third day He rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and His kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son He is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. AMEN.
Hope this helps.
Anthony

Starwoode is correct. Catholicism was the only Christian Church until Martin Luther lead a group of protesters and thus the protestant groups started. There are several rites of Catholicism, Roman Catholic, Greek Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox, etc. Gabe, you are wrong to say that Catholics tell people they will burn in hell. Some might, but the majority don't and doing so is not consistent with church doctrine.

Christians are those that accept the Divinity of Jesus Christ. Catholics Mormons Jews-for-Jesus are all Christian and all Christians are pledged to convert unbelievers.
AUUUUUGH - - - I cannot believe how much C R A P is being spewed in response to this question. Catholics are one of many Christian Sects; there are Orthodox Christians, Nestorian Christians, Coptic Christians, and they are older than The Catholic Faith - - - -

Catholics are considered Christians but they don't usually go door to door to try to "save your soul". But they will however if you come across the right one and tell them that you are not a Christian will try to tell you that you will burn in hell because you don't believe in Jesus.

There are only two actual types of Christians, Catholics, and Protestants. There were catholics before there were protestants because the word protestant means PROTEST. They protested to certain rituals and beliefs of the Catholics, So they are ALL Christians per sa.

Both are right. They are different sects of the Christian religion. All try to get every to join their idea of what it mens to be Christian. The one with the most convets wins a prize on the day of the last Judgement.

The meaning of Christian = Christ like
If a catholic has a true personal relationship with GOD and lives his/her life Christ like than it is my understanding that they are a Christian= a true follower of GOD
Catholics rely on saints and the virgin Mary to pray for them as a way to restore the gap between them and GOD. Yet JESUS says I am the way the truth and the life. you only have to pray for yourself to get the job done. GOD hears your prayers!
There is no need to rely on dead saints and porcelain statues to pray for you those are only idols. go directly to GOD! He is merciful, just and full of love.
