sorry to be rude but it's cosmetologist with an E. I have been actively licensed for two years and I began my training four years ago, there is a difference. Dermatologist deal only with skin, hair is an appendage of skin but an entirely different field. Cosmetologist are trained to deal with hair, skin, nails, and other beauty spectrums including waxing. Hair is nothing more than kerotin, a protien found in your nails as well. So, to answer your question, a cosmetologist is the most qualified to deal with HAIR, scalp or below the skin...consult a dermatologist.

Well, in Beauty it is called a Cosmotologist...so a specialist in hair would probably just be a hair stylist.

Hair Specialist/doctor is called Trichologist...

Hair stylist or dermatologist, depending on what you mean by specialist.
Looking good = stylist
Medical/physical probs w/ hair (early balding/excessive dandruff/exczema) = dermatologist

a hair-care specialist is what have always heard them called or possibly beautician, hair dresser, hair stylist they are called any and all of those.
