I have heard the same thing several times. I guess it depends on where you live. They feel that this is a Christian Nation. There is nothing further from the truth than that. Though Christianity was the major religion this country was founded on a non-religious platform. The majority of the founding fathers were Deists. The fundamental Christians have always tried to change that and impose their views on everyone. They can't and they cry about it.

That's one of the problems with the "every man can decide for himself" school of thought for Christians. They are against what they call "traditions of men" and reject the wisdom of centuries of Martyrs, saints and witnesses on the teachings in the bible.

It's that whole "instant" everything that Americans want. Instant understanding of the Bible. Short easy answers to the great questions of life.

Jesus said that the way is narrow and difficult. But most Americans choose the wide and easy path and think they can take the shortcut to God.

Lol..Me neither. Religion and politics should not be mixed...look at the middle east. No, i think most preachers understand this..religion is not good from a view like tht, Causes stuff like the holocaust and crusades and I question these preachers tht try to do tht.

I've never come across an overly political "preacher", but I have full confidence they exist. I would encourage you to inform this man that America is probably not going to be around very long. Either that or we will completely withdraw from Israel. Eschatology teaches us Israel will be completely abandoned. No knight in shining armor.

Oh! I wish I knew the answer to that! American is suppose to be a land of religious freedom, and since Bush became president, we are getting Christianity pushed down our throats. It is most unfair to us who are not Christians.

What's with the "K's"? AMERICAN is spelled this way. Because America is a Christian nation, has been since the beginning. There is much documentation on this subject. One book that goes into this (among other things American) is "Who Are We?" by s. P. Huntington.
